As well as our different Footsteps courses, Emmaus offers a suite of foundational courses in the Footsteps Tuesday night programme. These courses rotate over 4 years, so you can choose one or two every year to build your faith foundations.

FOOTSTEPS COURSES
A brilliant way to dive deeper and strengthen your faith
These courses include topics such as eschatology, leadership, church history, books of the bible, and many more.
Courses run on Tuesday night 7pm to 9pm.
They are run at our amazing venue at CCS 91 Mihaere Drive, Palmerston North.
"What does it mean for God to be God? If He isn't an 'old guy with a beard" sitting on clouds, then what is He like in Himself? In this course, we explore the depths of God seeking to answer these questions. By looking at each of His attributes from Scripture and Church history we will journey together in widening our minds and hearts to how great our God really is!"

Enjoy the luxury of an indepth study of this most famous parable in Luke 15. Peel back the layers of meaning by looking at the original language, and the Jewish village culture of the time. It's a rich story with insights about the heart of Father God, the gospel, and the need to avoid slipping into a performance-oriented Christianity. Instead, how do we live in grace and our new identity in Christ.

History? Myth? Something else? The story of origins in Genesis 1-11 has been the source of much controversy within the body of Christ. And while it's important to discuss the scientific and historical questions, this part of the Bible has a far greater significance that has often been overlooked. Genesis 1-11 paints a picture of God's relationship with all that he has made, and ultimately points us to Christ who is the eternal Word and source of all grace for fallen humanity. In a world where so many people try to live without purpose, or attempt to create their own meaning, Genesis 1-11 provides a solid source of hope and meaning.

Are you wanting a closer walk with God? An intimate rather than a transactional relationship?
This course introduces a variety of contemplative Christian prayer practises like lectio divina, silence, solitude and the daily examen. These Christian practises date back to our desert Fathers and Mothers from the 4th and 5th century, not to mention Elijah, John the Baptist and Jesus and his disciples.
These practises are all about creating space to simply BE with God, to listen to God and for God to speak to you personally. Each night there will be time for you to practice what has been taught, with time for discussion and reflection.
